I have an 8 year old son that is on several anti-psychotic medications and I need advice?

I am looking for parents who have or have had children on medications and maybe able to help. I am thinking of detox if something doesnt change, Please help if you can. I am desperate.

I am a bit curious as to why your son was put on several anti-psychotic medications. What is his diagnoses? What behaviors was/is he exhibiting? Have those behaviors improved any since you put him on medication? Why are you considering taking him off?
I have been on medications since I was a child. While mental illness in children is misdiagnosed and there are children who are needlessly over medicated, frequently a child who is on medication is in fact in need of help. I would talk seriously to your doctor about you concerns, and then be careful to take your son off the medication SLOWLY. Many anti-psychotics can have very negative effects if they are not introduced and removed from the body in increments.

Ask your self first of all why is he on them? Have you had other opinions from other doctors? You need to check all this out and fast! I believe they sometime dose them so much with drugs CZ they have NO idea what to do with them?

Please try and take him off
Get him a more competent Doctor
My son at one time had been on a few and I took him off of them so he could be a loving child again
These medicines are supposed to be beneficial but most of the time Doctors use children as experiments God Bless
I know it is hard and I know after all the medicine is out of his system then you will have your son back

I refused to put my son even on Ritalin. Freshly juiced juices, Omega 3, no preservatives. And find out what makes him happy.
