trying to find a dr in waldorf md or surronding area who can treat child with bipolar disorder?
Question:
Answers:
if you have medical insurance, contact your insurance provider, and ask them to reffer you to a pediatric psychiatrist.
Look up psychiatrists in your Yellow Pages. Or try Yahoo Yellow Pages. There are several in or near Waldorf.
If you're sure it's bipolar disorder, you'll need a real psychiatrist (M.D.), because the child will need medication.
There's more information on children with bipolar disorder at http://www.bpkids.org/site/PageServer and at http://bipolar.about.com/cs/kids_diag/a/red_flags4.htm. And at other sites as well. Google "bipolar children."
You may want to check into having your child see a neurologist first. This is an option other than the normal psychiatrist and drug solutions. Check out this website for more info:

I know they are in texas, but the idea makes sense and a neurologist near you might be able to help. Good luck.
