I get mad at work?

Question:
I've been working at an animal clinic for four years now. For the first 2 1/2 years I was always very helpful, and a little more outgoing I suppose. THen I quit smoking and I was not too happy about going to work for quite some time. Well, I'm still not really. It's mainly because I know my co-workers have said some mean things about me though. My one friend there said that he heard them say that I had a complete personality change and that I use to be "nice and friendly" and now I am "psycho." One of them also said that sometimes I look mean..or you can tell I'm mad. Which is something that I am ALWAYS paranoid about. It's like my paranoia is real afterall. What am I suppose to do to get back on track? Is me worrying about looking pissed off actually causing me to give that impression? They all act uncomfortable around me and it's like even if I do try to be more helpful now..they will still act weird. What should I do?

Answers:
ryan,
you should ignore the false perception that they are acting wierd...
maybe they are, but you just have to lie to yourself.
it's the only way you will function as they do which is what you want right?
save the paranoia for that mystery novel you are going to write someday.
best wishes.
Have you considered looking for another job?
