What are some of the side effects on Stattera other than what is listed ?

Question:
My Daughter is on Strattera and is on a 40 mg pill we are having problems with her paying attention in school still and not doing her work when she is told. She goes to bed at night but still wakes up sometimes in the middle of the night and she is really tired the next day and having problems getting through the day at school she is only 9 yrs. old is this too high of a dose for her?

Answers:
Strattera comes in oral capsules of 10 mg, 18 mg, 25 mg, 40 mg, 60 mg, 80 mg, and 100 mg, so what did your doctor say about her dosage? Is that what he/she prescribed?

Usually, to help your body adjust to a new medication, you will initially take a lower dose and then switch to a target dose.

In children, a very common side effect is tiredness. To possibly minimize tiredness, your doctor may advise you to adjust the time of day your child takes the medication. If possible, take Strattera at the same time every day to keep on schedule.
