What are the odds of a person with vicodin and soma getting off of them in a rehab facility that they chose?

Question:
The person has chronic pain after 2 neck surgeries within last 4 years, but realizes that she is going to lose her life and family family if she continues to stay stoned all of the time (especially on the soma). She chose a facility, but I'd like to know if others have experience in this area. I think she was taking about 10 soma and 15 - 20 vicodin, but hard to tell since addicts lie so much. Any experience in this area or data would be great. Thank you?

Answers:
I have had experience here. The odds are simply rather she's willing to stop for good. She can get off of them, but, may return. I have been there and until someone has hit rock bottom, the cravings will come back. I would take 15 soma, and yes you can get very high off of them !! I have been almost comatose at times and nobody can make you quit. And, yes they will lie, but the signs are always there. Just be a good friend and be patient with her. Thats all you can do for the time being. Hope this helps.
Stoned on Soma? That's a new one to me. I really think the Vicodin is causing her to be stoned. Are we talking about the hypothetical "SHE"?? Ok, if you say so.

SHE needs to go to detox and rehab. IF she gets off the drugs and gets into a program and really wants to stay off the meds, then, yes. She could become well. But only if she stays off the drugs.
That she has chosen a facility is a sign of willingness... she may not get weller soon, but it's a start. Let her go to the one she chose as opposed to waffling and putting the decision off. Most states have license requirements. She may have to go to a second,or third or more until the cycle is broken. The change is internal, setting doesn't make it.
