Has anyone had any success in dealing with a conduct disorder?
Question:
Answers:
Try to locate a provider who does Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST). This is an intensive form of outpatient treatment that has proven very successful in treating conduct disorder. If MST works, your son might be able to avoid residential all together.
I was able to find two providers in Texas:
Center for Healthcare Services
San Antonio, TX
Tarrant County Mental Health Services
Ft. Worth, TX
I don't know how close either is to you though, and unfortunately, no addresses or phone numbers were listed. For more resources, you might also talk to someone at your local juvenile court.
i don't know of any places that specialize in conduct disorders. maybe you could google "conduct disorder treatment facilities." most places do not want to work with kids with conduct disorders because their behavior is difficult to handle. also, it is a very difficult disorder to treat. hang in there. someone will be able to help you son.
