How can I learn to stop feeling in a rush and "slow down"?

Question:
For some reason, I always have the sensation that whatever I'm doing I "need" to get it done quickly because I "need" to get to the next thing--whatever it may be: an errand, a work project, making lunch, doing an email or whatever.

True, I *am* a busy person, but it seems that I am unnecessarily telling myself some message that makes me less relaxed about "needing" to get to the next thing, making whatever I am doing, less enjoyable, even when there's really no reason to rush!

Answers:
Have you considered the possibility that you may have a mild case of obsessive-compulsive disorder? It seems that you cannot control your compulsion to complete tasks quickly - and you recognize it as a problem. I would recommend a candid talk with your doctor - if this is the diagnosis - it is also highly treatable.
Maybe if you go somewhere where there is not cellphones and no computer just you and whom ever else you choose. Just lay by the pool, drink champagne and RELAX. I geuss what I am saying is take a vacation! Take your self out of your normal life for awhile.
