Ok, I think I might be able to help you. I went to the doctor for many of the same reasons. He put me on Zoloft. Its not really an anti-depressent, it just kinda calmes you down a bit. He put me on Xanax to help me until the pills kicked in. I was actually against taking Zoloft at first, but after awhile, I realized it worked. Its also a med that won't hurt you if you take it over a long period of time. Its honestly the best thing I've ever done. You should talk to you doc about it. Good Luck!
you really need to see a psychiatrist and explain all of this to them. they can help you and prescribe you the meds that you need. I would also tell them about the meds you feel DO work for you and see if they can prescribe those.
Lol number one DONT GO INTO DOCTORS ASKING FOR THEM. They will expect you to be Drug Seeking Fiend.
I am bipolar but can symphatize with you on the panic disorder is, i have one too. If you truly need valium or xanax you may have to go to a psychiatrist to get a script for them. I also take xanax but there r other drugs out there that they can treat you with Clonapin is one that could help you if they will absoulutely will not help you with the xanax or valium. It will stop some of the anxiety and panic problems. I hope that, that info is of some help to you.
You literally just described me to a T....I have been taking Paxil for a few months now, and I'm not sure if it is working or not, some days I feel good, some days I just want to curl up and stay in bed so that I dont have to face anybody! After reading some of the answers here, I will be talking to my doctor about other options, to see which meds will work the best for me! Good luck with everything, and just know that you are not the only one who suffers this anxiety!
The problem is there are so many drug seekers out there that it is difficult to discern b/t who needs them and who just wants them. As a former therapist the thing that would always tip me off would be the people who insist on meds and don't want to do or try anything else. You seem to be the type who could never believe you have any control over yourself and to me that means you could not control your drug intake. Right now the low doses of xanax will be ok but six months into it you'll want more. Then someone will wise up and stop giving them to you. Then you'll be right back where you started. Believe me as someone with an anxiety disorder I know sometimes medication is necessary but it isn't a cure. You've got to use it as a way to build confidence and coping skills. This may sound harsh but you have to learn a way to live with the symptoms and no medication is going to do that for you. Find a therapist, build a relationship and work on your self esteem, relationship issues, anxiety stop waiting for someone to save you and do it yourself.
