Answers:
you might have bipolar disorder. I suffer from it and I talk to a psychologist about it. I snap at the slightest things and I snap at the people who are closest to me. I really think you need to talk to a psychologist/psychiatrist and describe your situation to them and see if you may be suffering from more than just depression. Please ask your wife to be patient with you while you are going through treatment or if you start a new medication b/c everything takes time.maybe in the meantime, she can speak to someone about how she feels too and get some peace of mind. I hope everything works out for you.

The only one you can to turn to is Jesus, pray to God and he will help you........
Try Taking Meditational Courses,or even yoga...this is a ancient method pass down from generations to generations, many people had been cure, aroma therapy might work also
It has been 6 years since you started with paxil?
Seems that is enough to give it time. How about changing
medication?

Have you try to exercise? Relaxation oriented exercises, like
yoga or Tai chi.

You can try massages as well. Good luck
the symptoms of depression vary among different people. some maybe very sad (which the usual sign of it), some may be shopaholics for no reason, some maybe angry like you are, some may just gorge themselves. it's very difficult to get out of depression. it depends on you not the doctor or the medicine. you have to control yourself and think differently. when you get angry try not to show it and try not to lose your sense. think it through before you say it out loud. it may take some time but it's absolutely possible to get out of depression. good luck.
Sounds as if you might need a new doctor. Usually a month or two is long enough to know if it is right for you. Its a crap shoot...they might have to try several before they find one which works the best for you.
You could be Bi Polar also. It means your mood swings from depressed to excitable alot and quickly.
I had the same problem I was on Zoloft and was meaner then hell the longer I was on it the meaner I got. Finally I weaned myself from the medicine and started having me time. I would leave the house for a hour a day just me no work no kids, no spouse, no animals (unless I wanted to take a walk), no nothing just me and I would go do something that I found relaxing. I like to window shop so that's what I would do or sometimes me and my dog would take a nice long walk. But I was never with a person during my me time. It helped a lot and I still once a week will leave the house and have me time.
Good Luck
For the love of pete try all you can to get off this dangerous go-round you're on !.

Paxil and other antidepressants are risky at best.

Messing up uor brain chemistry, alternatingb between suicidal impulses, and explosive anger, which you know deep in your heart is NOT YOU, really.

My suggestion is try to read the first link about ONE alternative which DOES work and is harmless.

The second link clarifies some little known facts about pharmaceuticals.

I once was personally acquainted with effects of Luvox.

Brrr...never again.

All the best, be brave !.
Medicine can only do so much. Research has shown that it is the combination of medication and counseling that is most efficacious. Find a psychologist/therapist in your area. If you aren't insured look for community mental health centers/associations that will work with you on payment arrangements. It could be any number of things making you angry (meds, depression, anxiety, mood disorders) but you'll never know unless you do some serious soul searching with a qualified professional that hopefully includes your wife.
