Because they are not obessed with their body....Society today is over obsessed with body image.. A lot of overweight people are happy with the way they are and don't worry about looking like a stick (which looks just as bad). They don't deprive themselves of the foods they enjoy, and people like them for who they are, not what they look like. I'm not fat, but I'm not skinny either. I'm not going to deny myself a donut or ice cream or spend hours at the gym just to make someone else happy. I do what makes me happy..
It is a coping mechanism so they will be liked despite looking fat. They practice and get good at it and it makes them happy so they keep doing it, and it makes other people laugh, etc.
