What is credibility and why is it important to the critical thinker?

Question:

Answers:
Probably the best thing to look at is the recent fakery in genetics in was it China or Korea?

People base their work and thinking on the published results. When that proves NOT to be credible then you're back to square one and have to purge that influence from your thinking and work.

This is why science likes to see work that other people can repeat and obtain similar results.

The same applies to that group who "claimed" to make cold fusion. No one can repeat their work. So the critical thinker takes it with a grain of salt.

The UFO people. No one has yet produced any credible evidence. No one has produced an alient body. No one has produced a worked piece of metal that has no equal elsewhere in the world. No one has found DNA samples that are bio-chemical but don't match our DNA or better yet, don't show any known DNA at all, yet are bio-chemical.

When you're applying for a $50,000 grant to fund research they look at your credibility in past efforts to make an informed decision as to reward you or someone else with that $50k
credibility is being consistenantly right when it comes to major decisions. it is important to a critical thinker because there reputation is on the line and they need to think things through in order to keep there credibility there reputation
