Why do children fear the dark?

Question: I used to hate the dark when I was a child. I tried so many times to become adapted to the dark to rid my-self of the uncomfortable feeling it gave me, but attempts were unsucsessful, even after month of trying.

I conquered my fear of hieghts and of deep water and learning to swim; but I noticed that it was far easier to over-come these fears, dispite these being far worse than with hating the dark.

Are there any children who are NOT bothered by the dark? I have yet to meet one.

What is it with the dark? Nothing is any different, just because I turn out the light.

Human fear what they cant see
Kids cant see in the dark , so thier wide imagination let them see whatever they want , so try watching 10 horror movies and stay in a dark room for an hour or something ,
