how do doctors treat borderline personality disorder?

Question:

Answers:
Therapy. The more the better. Many doctors will try to prescribe meds, but there is no known med for Borderline Personality. It is just a fancy term for someone who has a difficult time dealing with problems and depression. Therapy is the only way to overcome this behavior. I know from experience and a doctors well laid out plan. The book "I Hate you, Don't leave me" Is not the best book on the subject, however your therapist will be able to recommend much better and easier to understand books. It is a start.

BPD is as how I stated. Someone who has a difficult time dealing with problems and depression!! I have been treated for this and I had NO TRAUMATIC precursors. That would have meant I had Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome NOT BPD. I have 3 doctors and 2 therapists that would testify in court to this. They are the ones who educated me on the meaning and have treated me to a new life that is drug free and the ability to modify my behaviors. Check out the Alliance of Mental Health for more information.
I've worked with women who have been diagnosed with BPD (borderline personality disorder) for the past three years. I can tell you it's something that is difficult to treat, but definitely possible. Usually, the client will take some type of medication. It depends on the exact symptoms. And with BPD, there can be alot of symptoms. Also, a DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) is a relatively new therapy that we've had outstanding results with. Hope this helps and please post again if you have additional questions. Maybe I can be more specific if you have a specific question. You can look up my e-mail on my user profile as well.
