Answers:
You`re obviously angry with either yourself and feel helpless or are angry with someone else. If you are angry with yourself, try and forgive yourself, I know that`s difficult sometimes. If you are angry with someone else, but cannot express how you feel towards them in a calm way, then turning the anger back on yourself will not help in the long run. I think that you feel that you deserve to hurt? I`ve got a feeling that you are already hurting enough inside without causing yourself additional physical pain. You`re storing all your emotions inside and they need an outlet, hurting yourself is a negative way, try and express it in a positive way. I used to go and throw cups at a wall! I don`t mean do that, but what about punching a punchbag in the gym? Or running until you can`t anymore, something that takes all of that energy and gets it out. You really need to talk to someone. Please don`t go down the road that you`ve discovered, please. You`re at a crossroads with this, please take a different road. The negative one has a dead end, take it from someone that knows. You take care of yourself, you matter and I really mean that.

Seek help, NOW

Have you smoked dope for a number of years??

Er.. masochism? Go to a shrink. go to a psychologist or whatever theyre called. stay away from sharp things..

Darling, you should go see a doctor before you go any further. Don't worry, it'll be ok :]

Please go see a professional-a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a social worker.somebody.Hurting yourself for pleasure is one thing, but self-mutilation is another. Its like drugs..once you start, you will become addicted, so you need to seek help!

if you don't have a primary physician go to the emergency room. seek professional help immediately for your own safety

Sweetie, get yourself to the doctor, ASAP. Behavioral health professionals are often booked far in advanced, but if you tell them you are in danger of hurting yourself, they'll get you in right away. Good luck to you. Please take care.

Is there something in your life that you are trying to avoid facing? If there is that might be the cause. Try facing it.

If there isn't anythin you're trying to avoid, maybe you just like the pain. Just don't cut yourself. If you really need the pain try having "somebody" else hurt you. Not badly, but enough where you like it.

Some people just like the pain, but if you go as far as cutting yourself it isn't healthy.

Ok. You need to see a doctor. Now. If you feel like hurting yourself right now, call 9-1-1 and they will take you to the hospital.

If you are just trying to get attention here on this website. Quit it.

Call your county Mental Health Department and tell them you are about to start "self-mutilating"

People do this to deal with "stresses" in their lives. They hurt themselves to release "endorphins"

You can get the same "rush" from running or lifting, with none of the stigma of being considered CRAZY or having lifetime scars to explain to loved ones.

Find a better way to "exhaust" yourself and get into counseling.

you should trying talk to a friend about this. i know i us to have a big problem with cutting myself. and it was hard to deal with alone. One of my best friends saw the cuts on my wrest and ask me about it. i told her. and now whenever i fell like hurting myself i know i can call her. not saying that you have a problem with cutting or anything. but you don't want to let it get to that point where pain solve you problem. if you arnt comfortable with a doc, then maybe a spiritual adviser is more in order for ya, besides a doc will most likely give u some meds that will suppress what you are feeling instead of leading you to an understanding. and i'm not necessarily talking a priest, just someone who knows about the human spirit. but until you get comfortable with someone in that way, i suggest meditation. it helps to focus on yourself and figure out what is goin on in the depths of your mind.

Think it would be good to talk to your doctor who will be able to point you in the right direction for some therapy, these things can often be sorted easily once the right help is found.

Can definitely lead to other more serious things. You seriously need to seek help. Believe me, you are not alone. There is a difference between self inflicted pain and just a pain trigger, which can effect other people. Get help before you cannot control it yourself!

Truthfully - and I don't mean to sound flippant - get some help. This kind of behavior is sometimes seen in people who have at some time in their life been abused either mentally or physically. The myth is that someone who was abused would strike out at others or try to abuse someone else but the fact is that they often internalize the abuse and inflicting pain upon themselves is a way of releasing it. It can be very destructive and once started can be difficult to stop. Get help now - you deserve it. Be kind to yourself - seriously. Tell your family & friends about it so they know why you do these things. Once they understand that tell your GP aboutit and they might be able to help you and you might get recommended to try Hypotheorpy (they will try and stop you from doing things like punching wall by hypotising you & don't be worried about it).

Good luck with getting better.
