my husband has depression and has been on all kinds of med right now he is on Prozac , neurone.doesn't work

Question:

Answers:
There are a few classes of antidepressants:
tricyclics, MAO Inhibitors, SSRI's, and some others that don't fit those categories.
Make sure his doctor has tried meds in all those classes to see if any are effective. If he's not seeing a psychiatrist to prescribe, it may be helpful for him to. Some people swear by over the counter St John's Wort. Some people benefit from increased sunlight. You can get a light box or full spectrum lightbulbs to see if that helps. Sometimes it's more than meds that will help depression, a good counselor or therapist can get at the root of why he's depressed and ways to avoid it in the future. If all else fails, his doc may recommend ECT (electro convulsive therapy) treatment, which sometimes is the only effective treatment for those with treatment-resistant depression.
Good luck, and take care...
he'll have to try until one medicine suits him.

meanwhile, do go for exercise and sports activities with him as it helps to stabilise his moods.
Become a pharmacist !! and he'll love you for ever !!
