Anyone take lexapro for anxiety?

Question: I was taking Paxil for anxiety however, it was causing me to have night sweats. Doctor suggested Lexapro. He said it has the least side effects. Anyone taken this before? If so how did it compare to Paxil?

I've been taking Lexapro since March. It has helped me a lot. I have never been ox paxil so I cant compare the two. However these are the side effects I have noticed with Lexapro, very sleepy at first right after taking it lasted 4-6 weeks. Now I have no problem with it. It did not affect me at work I tried to keep myself busy took naps when was home. If you drink while taking it, it can make you drowsy real quickly also. Urinary frequency at first as well 4-6 weeks. Its metabolized by the liver and I've noticed I bruise easier with it now, that is listed as a side effect. You may not have any of these issues, but they do clear up with use. Good luck.
