I have moderate depression and I like to drink sometimes, but it makes me feel quite depressed afterwards...?

Answers:
Jeez, if the doctor who prescribed your seratonin reuptake inhibitor didn't warn you not to drink alcohol, he should be shot (and sued).
You are not only negating the effects of the SSRI, you're ingesting one of the strongest depressants on earth (alcohol) and if you knew how much more likely you are to become an alcoholic b/c you have mild depression, you'd stay CLEAR of the stuff. Alcohol is poison to anyone, but for someone with depression it's bad poison and for some who's on an SSRI, it's a really bad poison. Your option is pretty clear, NO alcohol. It's not worth your sanity and your relationships and your future.
stop the alcohol. It is a drug and a poison. It interacts with your medication. If you cannot stop the alcohol you have an addiction to it.
