I think some people are misunderstanding bipolar...?

Question:
Just because you feel good one day and down the next doesn't mean you are bipolar. I have my mood swings and have been on meds for years for depression. I started seeing a doctor that thought I was bipolar and started me on a year long, every month change in meds to see if we could get it right. Nothing helped as much as just getting back on depression meds and doing a lot of thinking and self examination. No, I am not better, but I am working on.
Please don't think that just because you are happy one day and down the next you are bipolar...the disease is so much more then that. I have done my homework on it...believe me.

The next big thing for me is to find a therepist who works after 5 pm and getting in to talk to them as much as possible. I have so much from my childhood and adulthood to work through and it all just makes the depression worse.

Please think about what I have said before you "want" to say you are bipolar.

Answers:
Many people feel this way dear heart but it is not necessarily bipolar problem and I think you are doing the right thing. This is something difficult to live through and I hope you will find a good therapist who can talk with you after 5 p.m. Wouldn't someone in your surrounding know of one, or perhaps ask someone at the social services? They might be able to help you finding the right therapist..

I do understand what you are talking about because I have a friend who has the same problem. Don't give up dear Heart. My friend has the right medication now and is all right. It took years but at least life is easier now.

I wish you good health again and May you be happy in all you want to accomplish. You have done great so far. I do have admiration for your hard work and encourage you to continue because you are on the way to recovery.

God bless you dear Heart.
your right a lot of people mis judge the term bi-polar and some doctors even mis diagnose it because of the symptoms it often gets confused with depression... well i read that some where anyways. but thats interesting about what u had to say.
