What's a good thing to do when you're trying to stop cutting?

Question:

Answers:
1.Find ways to distract yourself when you feel triggered
2.Find someone to talk to about your self-harm. When I stopped self-harming I found the most helpful thing was to promise to call my boyfriend within 24 hours of the incident and talk about what lead to the self-harm
3.Figure out your triggers and try to avoid them
4.Have a "happy box", a box of things that you find calming or that you can distract yourself with when you feel triggered
5. Talk to a therapist or some form of a mental health proffessional to give you further tips on how to cope with your self-harm
6. Join a self-injury support message board, such as

Good luck to you

Get help dude there is no other way you need a support group there for you.
Keep your hands busy and try not to think about the urge to cut. I am a cutter and i had to go on medication to help me stop. You might want to see a Psychiatrist for some help.
Get help from a support group or a counselor. Random online people are not the ones to help you in this case--talk to a professional.
Build self confidence. Start with a joint.
See a mental health professional.
start a sport, start running or working out.

my kid put bandaids all over her wrists and arms to remind herself to not make any more scars on herself.

keep trying- you'll get past this...God Loves You!
why would you do that? you are obviously very pretty. in 10 yrs. you WILL BE SORRY. you should see my scars. i'm 54 and i still suffer the questions, WHY DID YOU DO THAT TO YOURSELF.heaven help you.
Absolutely! u need help. Most of the cases i have seen(6or7) get through it. there r sites on the net to help u. There r even sites that will find u professional help in ur city or close by. Support groups r helpful if u will go for it. Good Luck and God Bless. Also, if u r really serious, confide in someone in ur family (only way) and have them put any knives, razors, etc anything that can hurt you.Put them all in a lock box that can't b tampered with.
You need to build your self esteem. Find something else to occupy your time. If you feel the urge to cut find something or somebody to help cheer you up...If you believe in God, read the bible.
I don't understand ur question.
do u want to cut or stop cutting??

Plz tell me, I would like to help
girl I've been there and i know how you feel it becomes like an addiction .. first thing you need to do is talk to someone! then work out some techniques to use when you feel like cutting write a list of things you like to do.. screaming therapy is good get a pillow and scream into as loud as you can or go for a run that's what i did just keep running till you can't possibly run anymore more trust it works! get a rubber band and put it on your wrist and when you feel like cutting flick the band really hard on your wrist. Using face paints to paint where you usually hurt yourself. put your hands in freezing cold water. tear up newspapers. use a red washable marker and draw where you would normally cut.. use deep breathing techniques to calm down. hold an ice cube in your hand. rip something you don't need to bits.. most importantly remove anything that you could use to hurt yourself
here's several resources for you.

get help from someone who knows about this
A good thing to do is to find a hobby that will distract you from whatever the reason is that you want to cut yourself, such as drawing, playing video games, or something else that you enjoy.
Another thing that might be a good idea for you is to try to find a support group, either in real life or on the internet that's for people who are trying to stop cutting themselves and join it. When you have people supporting your decision to stop cutting, you will find that makes quitting it a whole lot easier than quitting cutting on your own could ever be!
