You should take these problems you seem to have light-heartedly.
Work on being more approachable, smile and nod when passing people you know and people you work with. People might think you are anti-social when really you just don't feel like you need the company of others. I used to be "anti-social" in school and people shyed away from me. I realize that I could have been a lot more popular if I simply made myself happy and welcoming. You don't need to make friends with people you don't feel compatible with, just make it look sort of possible.
I think this is the core of your problem. You might think that your presentation is not important but IT REALLY IS TRULY!
Learn to laugh at yourself when you make mistakes.
