I have a seven year old son.. he has some sourt of autisim.?

in many ways he is like a normal seven year old..with the exeption that he goes to special classes and he has low musle tone in his hands and feet that makes him a little clumsy.. he complaints that im too over protective because i dont let him do certain things, i have a nine year old and im raising my husband seven year old daughter.. if they want to go somewhere to play like a friends house i let them go but i wont let my little boy go.. he has trouble with his speach and im afraid he cant keep up with the others or that they might get too rough with him.they have and the results of that was his arm was broken.. but he still tell me mommy im not a baby i dont need for you to watch me all the time.. its like he is slow but at the same time very aware of the situation.. i dont know how to treat him,im so over protective over him i cant help him but i realise that i have to let him spread his wings im just afraid he will brake.. need adivice.. thank you.

I am a parent of an autistic child. Special needs children want to be treated as much like all other children as possible. Unfortunately he will brake, he will not be able to do what some other kids do, and he will get teased. The only way for him to learn his limits is the same way you and I did, trail and error. Your a good parent, he knows he can come to you, let him be a kid.

I have a child with the sings and symptoms of aspberger syndrome and he tries to get me to let him stay home. I suggestion is to get him involved in a group of other children that may be like this or even in a group with other parents who are uncertain. Try something like a play group or you can even try doing some in home day care. Every little thing you can do try it. You will still be with him but at the same time you are allowing him his dignity and allowing him his self-respect.
