I wouldn't worry too much. Unless it's affecting you to the point where you can't happily live your day-to-day life, it might just be a phobia, like some people have of the dentist or (in my case, a little weird I know) chickens.
The fact you have a shower curtain probably isn't helping, because you can't see through it and so it can make you concerned about who is lurking behind it, even though it's likely to be no-one. Invest in a new shower curtain that is made of clear plastic - it's easy to see through, and so you can always see that there is no-one there. If you get one with little fish or something printed on it, it should also brighten things up and make everything a bit more cheery! Try taking showers in the day when it's light, and maybe plug a stereo in (keep it well away from the water, of course) to listen to music. The time when you're afraid is only when you're in the shower, so try making that time special. Quiety re-affirm the idea in your head that taking a shower means time to pamper yourself - soon enough you'll think of showers as positive, and this should also help to reduce your fear.
As to a cause, it's hard to say. Maybe when you were younger someone startled you in the shower, or you saw a scene in a movie and it subconciously affected you - it could even have been in the preview for a movie on TV or at the cinema, that you have forgotten about and it's just kinda imprinted on your memory. Either way, it's important not to let it affect your life.
Best of luck hon,

you are just holding the images in your subconscious mind
stop watching horror movies
try something safer
good luck
It could have been a thought you picked up somewhere and kept repeating, as thoughts tend to do. So now it's a ritual.
