I think my 13yr.old son is huffing aresol sprays?

Question:
He swears I'm crazy and gets very defensive, says I think he's a loser or I wouldn't ask such questions, makes me feel guilty. But everything that is sprayable in my home is dissapearing. A full can of hair spray that I used 2 times was gone in 3-4 days. Also full cans of dissinfectant spray. I haven't noticed any weird behavior or anything but I don't know what to do to find out for sure and then what to do if he really is ..OMG. Help!

Answers:
First of all, it is always good to trust you kids. Unfortunately, once you have evidence that they may not be honest with you (i.e your aresol cans disappearing) you no longer have the luxury of pretending it is not happening. My first suggestion is to switch to non aresol products when possible. Not all things have an alternative so you should get a lock box or a cabinet that locks and put any aresol products in it under lock and key. Do not forget that the whip cream aresol containers can be huffed. Huffing is stupid and scary and kids do not know how dangerous it is. Having to work with several teenagers who are now considered to be severely disabled as a result of huffing, I can tell you it is no joke.

Other Answers:
keep a close eye on him..maybe burning it as its also flammable which is better than huffing but still dangerous..
Install a hidden camera somewhere and leave some sprays out. It could be he is bringing a pal over and HE is doing it. But if your son doesn't want to admit it to you, he won't. You have to catch him.
Huffing is very dangerous, it could damage his lungs or kill him.
For the time being don't replace aerosols.
Take him to your doctor. Counseling may be necessary
hes making flamethrowers.and snortin coke lines
put your poisonous things out of reach of children, hide your stuff in a locked(heavily secured big locks)or dig hole at the backyard and put some cover and camouflage without his knowing!Or maybe you see a doctor for your child's mental behaviour!
