Learn some defensive tactics. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even the very stupid. Can you tell the difference between an honest opinion and a stupid one? Also, some people enjoy hurting the feelings of others. Don't give them that joy.
try and be calm and don't take all comments that people say to you seriously. even you hate what they say just smile about it and create joke about them too
You got to ask them what do they mean when they say that and learn what makes other people think you are too sensitive; try and change if possible after all you will only hurt yourself if you continue with this trend.

because of my father's extreme negative and detrimental behaviour towards me till i got married, i also became a very sensitive person, used start crying, get depresed easily, it was my decision and determination to go for post-graduation in social work that changed my lfe. i put my sensitivity to maximum use in reading people's mind, and counselling, while i was studying, my father complained it's an expensive course, and not affordable, i should work instead, but i didn't give in, and i am grateful to God for the strength!
