Answers:
I work in a clinic and see a lot of this, my first qustion is what are the symptoms you experience? What triggers it? You say you've tried many pills without relief, have you ever been seen by a psychopharmacologist?? They specialize in the medication aspect. Did you every have therapy along with the medication, to learn techniques to work through the anxiety.

You didn't mention what medicines you tried. Go to a Dr. and see what they say. Or figure out why your are anxious all the time and try to fix it that way.

My husband suffers from a serious chemical imbalance which leaves him highly anxious and depressed. For 4 years now he has been tweaking his medication (with the advice of his psychiatrist) and finally has found a combination of two different medications that make him feel better.

My husband also complained of not being able to function on the medication. He hated it and he wasnt feeling relief from the anxiety and depression and he really was ready to give up.

Dont give up. Just work with your doctor until you find what you need. It takes a while, but it is well worth it! Maybe you need another doctor. Medical doctors dont usually have as much information as Psychiatrists.

I used to take anti-depression medicine and that stuff actually was causing my anxiety. I suggest more natural means of balancing your mood. Try St. John's Wort, drink lots of distilled water, and eat more omega 3s like salmon or trout.

Doctors will throw a pill at anything and say it will cure all of your illnesses. Only go to them when there are no other options left.

I too suffer from anxiety, although not as severe as your case may be. I have found mediation which was difficult for me at the start has been very helpful. Also yoga has helped alot. You will learn to focus and concentrate along with some stress relieving exercises. Deep breaths when you feel the pressure mounting. And I know it sounds outragous but silly putty has also helped to keep my fingers busy and aid as a distraction. Check out (http://www.reducingstress.net ) there is a lot of great content, information articles, expert advice and links on the subject there.

Doctors only want to treat your sypmtoms or "illnesses" not cure them. Try going the natural route with St. John's wort, exercise, getting out in the sun, etc
