Why do I hate myself?

Do you think it could be due to something I did? Should I treat the hatred I have toward myself like the hatred towards another person? Could it have anything to do with the fact that my mother just died a few months ago?

that must really suck. . .maybe you're depressed, which would make sense considering the trauma you recently went thru. why don't you try therapy, it can really help you get your life under control and straighten out whatever you're thinking and feeling. good luck!

its very hard for us to tell you why you hate yourself, we dont know you, join a group for people who have lost someone close to them and just talk it through, sometimes churches have these groups free and they really can help. my daughter went to one over loss in a divorce situation and it helped her so much. you know you didnt cause anything to make you hate you, so its usually how we react to something someone has said to us, i hated myself because my father hated me, then i figured out, at about 50 that he was the one he really hated and he just took it out on me. im not a prize but im a good human being and a talented artist and writer. i dont see my father at all anymore.
