Video game addiction?

Question: My brother in law is so addicted to video games he can not keep a job, has become nocturnal and flies into fits of rage, probably due to lack of fresh air, sunlight and sleep, he is getting a divorce and (won't get it)but wants custody of the kids just so he can keep the house get paid alimony and get to play video games all day and night. does any one have personal experience with this? Do you recommend any web sites, groups or organizations where I can get info?

Being an addictions counsellor, we see this all the time.Whether it be shopping, video games and gambling. It should be treated just as any kind of an addiction. Have you thought about doing a family intervention
