Sleep paralysis is being completely unable to move or even call for help. It occurs right before an out of body experience, when your soul is slightly disconnected from your physical body. I remember the first time that happened to me. I didn't know if I was dead, or dying or what. I've only had two out of body experiences, but I've had the sleep paralysis many a time. I read this book called 'Soul Traveler' and he said all you have to do is wiggle your pinkie finger and you would instantly reconnect. I got scared by my two out of body adventures, so I make sure I never get to the paralysis. Therefore I've never tried the technique.
recently,it happens to me.within this yr,it has happen to me abt 5 times.
i cant move,i cant 'wake up',i practically fear for my life for nt waking up again.
if u ever encountered tis,u can attempt to struggle but after awhile u will be tired.u will wake up eventually unless ur soul is lost.i tink its due to stressed or u keep ur feelings bolt up inside too much.
I suffered from this about ten years ago when I was having a lot of problems getting to sleep. I was even diagnosed with narcolepsy, because I would feel the sudden, irresistable urge to fall asleep during the day, no matter what I was doing.
When I did, I would sit in a chair and be out instantly, but only stay that way for a few minutes. Then I would wake up, at least my head would. My body below my neck would be paralyzed. The doctors said that the body is in a paralyzed state when you reach the dream level of sleep - to protect you from moving around when you dream. Usually, you'd arouse from sleep gradually, so your body would be moving again before you wake up. But when you drop in and out of sleep so fast, your body doesn't have time to wake up. It takes a few minutes more.
As far as I know it's not dangerous, but it sure doesn't feel good when it happens to you. If it is, check that you are getting enough sleep and do what you can to see that you do.
Hope this helps.
