Is there something wrong?

Question:
When ever I sit for a period of time and then stand up I see brightness and feel unsteady, kind of dizzy. for instance, in the movie theater when I get up after a movie I always get dizzy and trip. Is there anything wrong with me? If so, what should I do?

Answers:
Sounds like you have low blood pressure, also called vasovagal hypotension.
Very common and not dangerous. You just have to know what to do when it happens. Never, ever get up too fast. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded it is best to lie on the floor on your back with your legs up in the air. If that is not possible, put your head between your knees.
Take care in the summer months to keep hydrated. Gatorade is a great supplement.
Good luck!

The same thing happens to me, my mom said it was a shortage of some specific blood type or blahblahblah, doctor stuff. But yeah, does anyone know?
Take iron pill supplements, and drink more milk.

It's a condition caused by lack of iron in the brain. Not enough red meat.
I get that all the time. It won't go away, but you'll get used to it.
if u got up really fast suddenly then that might happen, it happens to me some times it gets all bright, for me, its nothing really but it might be different for u, i think its cause u get up to fast unexpectedly or your crazy
You might have low blood pressure. Try getting up more slowly. Your doctor will be able to tell you more, you're not going to get an accurate diagnosis on youqa.com.
low blood pressure. need to slow down. it doesn't matter the age. every age will happen.
see a doctor, the only person i know that had dizzy spells was over 90 years old. It could also be your blood pressure which can lead to strokes and or death.
could possibly be dehydration or that one thing where you lack iron. talk to doctor of really concerned
this could be a big or small something go to the DOCTOR
hes the only one that can tell you for sure
low blood pressure rush . get up more slowly. It's common.

It sounds to me like you might be having trouble with dehydration. You could try drinking more water for a few weeks to see if that clears the situation up. Best thing to do if you're concerned would be to see your doctor!
You could be anaemic, lack of iron in the blood, or you could be underweight. If you're not underweight, ask your Doctor for a blood test to check Iron levels.
It sounds like you're experiencing vertigo. It could be nothing-- I've known friends who simply experienced vertigo a lot, with no reason-- or it could mean something potentially dangerous. I'd talk to a doctor, if I were you, just to make sure.
you might have an inner ear condition called vertigo.
don't worry its treatable by doc.
go see him if its bothing you that bad. could be something else that might be serious
Get your blood pressure checked. You are getting high blood pressure warnings.
There could be a large number of things that could be wrong. You might want to go to a Doc to see about that. There are some serious things that it could be. Things like brain tumors or diabetes or cancer.
There could be something VERY wrong with you, I suggest you go to a doctor as soon as possible. You could have anemia or inter-ear problems. It could even be something more serious, so I say, SEE A DOCTOR.
It might be a sign of vertigo; other than that, I think it has something to do with the blood collecting in your lower extremities after you've been sitting for a while....the less blood you have circulating in your head, the more light-headed you feel

but if you get this condition often, you should probably talk to your family doctor about it
Consult an Ophthalmologist and check your retina.
Have you seen your doctor> It could be your blood pressure either high or too low blood pressure could make you dizzy and light headed. Have your blood sugar tested. Tell your doctor of all these symptoms and have some blood work done.
Definately not normal. Contact your family doctor ASAP. No sense to just worry about it & do nothing.
Sounds like low blood pressure. SEE YOUR DOCTOR. DO NOT TAKE IRON SUPPLEMENTS OR ANYTHING ELSE UNLESS HE TELLS YOU. TAKE MEDICAL ADVICE ONLY FROM HIM/HER.
i am not a doctor as no one that answered you seems to be the best thing to do is ask your doctor it could be nothing it could be small or could be something really big and a big deal my husband had the same problem a few years ago he said it was nothing ( you know how men are) finally he ask the DR. and found out he had low blood sugar. So best advise ask a Doctor best of luck.
Your symptoms could be from blood pooling in the veins of your legs. There is a test called a tilt-table study that can check for this possibility. If you do in fact have excessive blood pooling in the legs, you can try wearing elastic stockings; you should also stay well-hydrated (drink plenty of water dehydration can be a cause also); there are also certain prescription medicines that can be used in this situation if it's persistant.
u should wait a while. it could be somthing related to u. r u worried about somthing? depressed? r u thinking too much? if not ..this could be seroiouse. u should go to the doctor and tell him that u get dizzy and that it happens to u all the time and that ur not really comfortable with it. but first wait a while... rest , relax, listen to music and then get up moving slowly not quickly. if u still feel dizzy go to the doctor. =]
I kind of deal with that all the time. For me, it's usually when I've spent long hours on the computer or watching TV, doing something that strains my eyes. Your dizziness and tripping after watching a movie with your eyes trained on the bright screen is probably because of eye strain. A couple days of adequate sleep will probably do the trick.
Unfortunately, diagnoses cannot be made over the Internet, so only a doctor can tell you if what you are experiencing is "normal." Rest assured, however, that many people experience dizziness, faintness or light-headedness when they stand up- this is called postural hypotension (low blood pressure), and is due to a drop in blood pressure upon standing.
