during a middle aged crisis!?

Question:
why does it happen

Answers:
I don't think you'll find a hard and true answer to this question. In my opinion a mid-life crisis is a point in life when an adult is experiencing the awareness that they are not "20 years old" anymore, and they are having difficulties accepting that. They want to do the things in life that they did/or weren't able to experience from their younger years. Another take on this could be that someone in this situation has a tremendous amount of responsibilities in their life, and to relieve some of those stressors they begin to stray away from their normal routine of their daily life. I would guess examples of this could be breaking up from a longtime relationship or marriage, drastic changes in clothing or hairstyles, personality changes, etc. I think it may be difficult on a person who who knows someone who is going through an experience defined as a "mid-life crisis" because you're watching a person you thought you knew very well, and now they might be acting very different from their baseline. It might feel like you don't even know who that person is anymore. As to why it happens though....chances are it's because of many various things going on in that persons life and they feel they some changes. Take your pick....to feel young again, to experience new things, to get away from the routine of their life. Who knows?
People start to feel their live has gone no where and they have no more time. They feel trapped because they didn't do the things they dreamed or planned when kids.
