How do you pay for counceling?

Question:
With the high price of counceling, how do people afford it? Im a single mom. They (billing office at the clinic where they do counceling) tell me I dont qualify for any deductions, at $115 a pop and he wants to see me every 2 weeks. I cant do that. Yes I have insurance that does not cover out patient counceling. How do you afford it?

Answers:
Look around for a new place - somewhere with a sliding scale, preferably. I went to the Community Services in my area and only had to pay $26-$28 a session (weekly).

I'll include a link for "Counselor Find" - special area of NBCC.org (National Board of Certified Counselors). They all list info for each including their number and areas of practice - that way you can find someone that's more affordable (or has a sliding scale) and will also suit your needs.

Overcoming my depression and anxiety was the best thing I've ever done for myself and I wish you the best of luck!
