CAN anyone tell me something about the drug prozac?

Question:
does it make you tierd, or what is the reason people take it??

Answers:
Prozac is an anti-depressant, used by doctors to treat varying conditions, including anxiety and minor cases of impulsive anger disorders. The drug tells the brain to release more endorphines, to level out moods and improve the mental quality of ones life. I understand it does tend to make people tired, but it's just a temporary effect and goes away after a couple of days or so. It's a very popular medication these days, and has had a profound effect on a great many people.

Other Answers:
Prozac is an antidepressant and antianxiety medication. It mellows you out and doesn't make you tired but has mad some people who have taken it want to hurt others.
It's an anti depressant. It never made me tired, but it k.o.ed my emotions totally. No ups, no downs. Really did not like the stuff.
The other few answers are good, but here's a site that's good if you want to do more research: http://www.drugs.com/ . you should be able to find info about it, what the ingredients are and all that. Or just Google it. Good luck.
i tried it. i got so freaked out i couldn't leave the house, i became very suicidal. it has the opposite effect on some people. especially those who are young or have anxiety disorders. keep in touch with your doctor or a friend. so they will know you are changing, if you decide to try it.
Prozac is actually a flouride containing chemical. I would highly suggest you research its potential side effects, before embarking on the deleterious course of SSRI therapy. It makes much more sense to use food supplements like Noni, l-tryptophan, st.john's wort, or Sam-E, instead of a chemical that was first used by the Nazi's in WWII on jews in concentration camps. It is still used today in Russia to paralyze the brains of prisoners. Flouride is no joke!
One woman said it saved her life. My mom tried it, and it made her gain 30 pounds in one month--and did not help her. Everybody's different, that's why there are so many medications on the market.
