I took it for 3 years and had most of the side effects. It worked, no mood swings or depression (no anxiety). It took about 2 weeks to really kick in and it did a great job. However, the downside was all the side effects (nervous ticks, etc).
I got off it and went without an SSRI for a couple of years to see how I did without one. When I found I couldn't do it, I went back on Effexor XR which has fewer side effects.

i am on paxil but i did not have two many side effects the only one i have is my legs jump alot.
it will only depends on your body but you will do fine and it does help with the depression and anxiety.
I have been on Paxil for about two or three years and it does a wonderful job for me. I suppose I am lucky because I have no side effects or problems.
When I take it, I can think clearly and rationally and I am able to cope with most of what life throws at me.
