After a narcissist devalues you doe he become a different person towards you,like extremely cold and nasty?

My ex of 6 months (narcissist) became so mean and angry towards me so quickly I could not understand what happened and why. I asked him what happened to the sweet man I was in love with and his answer was "Hes GONE man!" Is this typical of narcissistic behaviour? I NEVER got a definitive answer as to why we were splitting up. It was very scary seeing this anger in him and not knowing what made him that way.I kept blaming myself but I knew my feelings had not changed for him. I truly loved him .Do these people not understand what love means? He was also very unforgiving towards people when something would happen. If I said something that irritated him he would NOT tell me, but just store everything inside his brain and then near the end of our relationship he went into a rage about past events.He took everything in everyday life as a personal attack. I did not know what I could say to him. He was also embarrassed very easily and EXTREMELY immature. He's 52. Is this a typical "N" ?

he knows what love is. only the love for himself. he sees himself as "perfect" even though he's not so he embarasses easily when his faults are pointed out to him but when others are not perfect, he is quick to point them out making him look and feel superior. he devalues you in order to make you inferior. once he knows this and feels this way about you, it'll only reinforce his superiority to you and he will constantly remind you of your flaws to make you seem like you aren't perfect. things in the past remind him of something faulty, probably his fault too. it upsets him that you have the balls to point it out to him making him feel inferior when it should be he that makes you feel inferior. It's all a mind game thing. deep down he believes he is perfect and loves himself bcuz of that. when things do go the way he planned, it points out flaws in his logic or character that he would rather not hear about. he wants to point out others flaws to make him feel powerful and superior to everyone else. he's a waste of your time and you'll never be rid of it. kind of similar to what's called invincible ignorance. that no matter what you do or tell him, you'll never change him. get rid of him and find someone else.

you deserve better! I used to be involved solely with men like this. I had a life-threatening crisis and began to do some work on myself. I have books here that assist me in my quest to be a whole person, the link below comes closest to touching the why's I had my head if that makes sense.

That's really sad :(

Not knowing this guy, it is impossible to say why he behaved like that. Quite possibly he doesn't understand himself.

Just make sure you don't get back with him and hope you're luckier next time.

I think he's a typical SAMF.
