what is a code of conduct?
Question:
Answers:
Davespnr suggests that 'Code of Conduct' is just a posh way of saying 'Rules.'
It's that simple if you think 'that simply,' but it's a little more than that.
'Conduct' (as in 'Guide,') in these terms, is 'the manner in which you conduct yourself (or 'behave').
'Code' is ....well, lets just say, it is like putting your password into your PC in order to get what you want from it. It's a key to enable you and the PC to work together (and fulfil your roles)
If you walked into a pub and said to whoever was behind the bar, 'Give me a pint, or I'll smash your face in,' you 'Conduct' would not be acceptable.
The 'Code' is your knowledge NOT to behave like that.
In effect, they are Rules, but they are a somewhat more subtle.
I suspect that the manner in which 'Code of Conduct' is printed, that the USE of the language is for people to think about the wording and to help us modify our thinking (if needs be) in order that we can Each get through the day with as few unnecessary hassles as possible so that we can basically, 'Have A Nice Day.'
Sash.
It is a set of rules to conduct yourself by. Just posh wording for rules.
