when im feeling blue and down and pretty sad..what should i do to take my mind of it?

sleep now and forget everything for 8 hours
Go out. Hang out with friends or family. Write a letter. Go to the movies. Exercise. Run like a manic down the street.
something you enjoy...shop or go out with friends or exercise...anything but eat...comfort eating just makes you more unhappy (i know from experience...depression used to make me eat..then i got fat and more depressed)
Read a good book or if you are into God then read the Bible or pray.
I turn on some music and clean my house like a madwoman. Or I take my kids to the movies.
Well, stay active and dont eat your feelings away
It happens every now and then to everyone.

If it is a long sadness, or a thing that lasted more than an hour try this...

Try and do some of your favorite hobbies now and then, which would ease your mind.

Then squeeze a stress ball three times, which would calm some of your reflexes, since sometimes when people are sad, they are angered, and their reflexes kind of feel kind of violent, and squeezing a stress ball would help.

Then result in a warm bath, for that would ease yourself also, and that would pretty much be it.

But if it is most often momentary, I suggest you to just imagine everything would clear up and be better. And it would. If you mourn about it for a long time, you would never move on and ease your sadness.
Try going out with friends or u should keep yourself busy. I personally like being by myself in a quiet and relaxing place listening to music.
go for a 30 minute walk. sing. dance. listen to music. play sports. pray. watch t.v. read a book.
