Is time off from work the best solution to job burnout?

It is. But.... and there is always a but! You must keep a similar waking routine and bed routine as that is what will affect you most returning to work. It is good to make a list too of all the things you want to do, like walk a certain hike path you have seen or movies you want to watch, if not the time will be wasted and you will regret it. lastly this time out is for YOU time so remember that as when i took time off recently my family and Friends all had ideas about what i could do for them!

I find its not only time off but spending days away from home and your normal environment.
