What is YOUR obsessive compulsive disorder?

Question:
Mine are emptying ashtrays, straightening out the tables at the restaurant, counting things.floor tiles, lines in paneling, cans on shelves..so what gets your goat?

Answers:
Rewording or rewriting words or phrases, Checking and rechecking for mistakes, Excessive List- Making, The urge to remember certain things such as slogans, license plate #'s, names, words or event of the past for fear of forgetting, Preoccupation with aligning items such as papers, books, Wanting things to be "perfect

This has caused me to never be able to invite people into my house it is so bad. My house could be clean but to me it is not perfect so I can't stand anyone coming inside, weird I know but its me. My best friend has never set foot in my house or any of my relatives unless they live with me. Its hard to go into other peoples houses too without wanting to straighten it up even if it is clean lol

Checking to see if my jeans are unzipped. I can't keep from performing oral sex on women. Almost anyone I meet, I want to do this to them. Even after they 'climax' I still do not want to stop.

I Gotta clean!

Keeping drinks on the top shelf of the fridge and nothing else, certain things in certain places, not having any scratchouts on a paper that I wrote on or I have to write it again

Yawning, facial twictches, scratching, driving home from work to check on the oven when I know the stupid thing is off. Ummm not sure if this is really ocd but I catch myself chewing on both sides of my mouth equally. LOL like one m&m on the left side and then one of the right. Also gotta have an even number of items, hate getting stuck with 3 instead of 2 or 4.

Mine? Movies, I'm a movie freak!

I label all of the hangers for each article of clothing, sorted by colour in order of the colour wheel. That is about 362 articles of clothing that are hanging in the closet.

Items that are folded have laminated labels on them so I I know where they are and where they go after washing, also sorted by colour in order of the colour wheel.

I have to have my home and office just so. In my office, all of my supplies (which I buy myself so they coordinate with my cube) have my name on them. In fact, I have stickers with my name on them and whenever I buy something I usually stick my name on it.

OMG, it's the order I clean my house. I have to vacume starting right in front of my front door, I end in front of my bathroom door. My kitchen, I do dishes, plates first, then bowls, then silverwear, then cups, then every other plastic utensil, pots, then pans. After dishes, I wipe down my table, then the stove, then the high chair. after that, trash gets taken out, floor gets swept then mopped. Then it's the bathroom. First the sink, then the toilet, tub, trash gets taken out, sweep, mop. I have to clean these rooms in this exact order. If my fiance helps me clean and goes out of order, I have to go back and do it in the right order. I used to be obsessive compulsive. No kidding. I used to feel as if I didn't move something three times or touch it or do a whole lot of stuff several times someone would die or something bad would happen. I was strong enough to get over that silliness on my own. Every kid is obsessive compulsive just that some kids leave that stage really young as they are supposed to while others grow into their teens or worse twenty and keep on. You just have to realize what you are doing and stop. if you can't tell someone you trust and love and let them help you. I tcould be dangerous in your future. No kidding! People won't notice now, but after seeing you they will get it that you are a bit strange in that aspect. Good luck :)!

you sound just like my sister.especially the tiles, she cant walk on different colors. mine arent as bad.but if im in a room the door has to be closed, i cant sit on the end of an aisle, everything has to be even. if i accidently touch part of my body on something i have to do the exact same thing on the other side. i cant be told the same thing more than two times in a row. and my worst two are if im writing on paper (like taking notes or something) and i accidently make a mark on the paper i have to scratch it out completely until i cant see it anymore and if a teacher is erasing a board and they leave the tiniest mark on the board i get the worst anxiety feeling ever. i have to leave the room, close my eyes, and pretend in my mind that she erased it and then not look at the board anymore.

and i dont know what some of these other people are talking about, those are ocd problems you have.at least you didnt say going to the movies was your ocd

OCD is a disease or as named a disorder, you either have it or you dont. you have it my friend. some people just do not have "obsessive personalities". your question should say what are you obsessed with?
Theres a big difference between having OCD and being a neatfreak!

I have CHP (chronic hair pulling) I no longer pull bald spots in my head, but I have no eyebrows. Its science name is "trichotillomania". My city actually has a 12 step program for it. all of the above, plus answering these questions, playing text twist, an endless list.
