Is this harrassment?

I am a receptionist in a school, and my desk is in the main hall. In 9/01 a new teacher started working in my school whose classroom is down the hall from my desk. The first three months she was very friendly and would stop at my desk and talk. After the Christmas party she started acting cool towards me and sometimes not answering if I said hello. Whenever men are at my desk she quite frequently goes by and tries to get their attention and if she does, acts very pleased with herself. At dismissal she stands next to me and tries to get attention away from me by being loud, all the while hardly ever saying a word to me. She quite frequently brings her children one at a time outside her classroom to scold them and does this loudly. She is attrative and so am I but I have many attractive friends in the school, even more attrative then she is who I relate to very well. I've been thinking about telling my new boss. She is a woman and might understand. What do you think?

try to think what happened at the christmas party. I do not think your boss would do anything about it if she thinks very professionally or at the most confront this new teacher can bring instant denial from her. she might just deny doing it all. has anyone else experienced this kind of behaviour. you can approach your boss in a for your information style rather than complaining about this new teacher if this is affecting your work or school reputation. if i was your boss i would be pissed if one of my teacher is scolding students loudly right at reception. that would be highly unacceptable if there are outsiders there. you can take this approach with your boss.

I don't think it's appropriate to tell your boss that you feel she takes attention away from you. If you are concerned about the students, then tell your boss that she scolds the children loudly. If you mention anything about the teacher taking attention from you, then your boss will just think that you're jealous.

Did something happen at the X-mas party to make her mad at u?Have u tried talking to her? Maybe she is jealous of u for some reason. If it continues I would try talking to her with ur boss there. I don't really think that is harassment, Its just how females are sometimes. She probably feels as though you are her competition somehow. Maybe if she just came out and said something to threaten you then I suggest you consult your boss. But I don't think its harassment. I'm a female and I know females are natural born bitches.
