i like to stay up late and sleep late, problem is that i never get enough sleep?

I have full days from morning until night, but for some reason no matter how hard i try to fix it, i fine my self falling asleep late and waking up early, i feel stressed and tierd all the time.i don't like taking pills, but i think so much at night that i can't fall asleep until 3am.i want to change for health reasons, any advice?

There could be numerous reasons for this. How is your caffeine consumption? Studies show that more than 2 cups per day will keep you from going into deep sleep. Do you take time to unwind before bed? Jumping into bed after a stressful day leaves the mind ready to roll. Sleep researchers recommend that 1-2 hours before you try to sleep that you engage in an activity that helps you to relax and is pleasureable, such as reading. Also, try playing relaxing music an hour before bedtime. How is your lighting? Seratonin is the brain chemical that induces sleep. Your body produces the most of it when lights are low. Keeping a lots of lights on around you will make it harder to feel tired at night. How is your bedroom? A lot of clutter in the bedroom can make it difficult to unwind. Everything you see stirs thoughts in the subconcious mind so the brain is working hard even if you're not aware of it. The other big factor is that you should never do any kind of work in your bedroom. Many sleep experts recommend that you make your bedroom into a "haven" by decorating it very simply and in colors that make you feel relaxed, usually blue or green. Keep the lighting low, use candles, keep clutter off of the dresser tops, and make sure your bed is as comfy as it can be.
I thought this was all jargon until I tried it for myself and it has really helped. I redecorated my room, bought new bed covers, took all but a few decorations out, put candles on the dressers, and have started playing soft music, reading and turning the lights down an hour before bedtime. It really helps.
