Needle phobic!! Help!?

Question:
I'm 15 and I am extremely afraid of injections and shots/needles My doctor is not really aware of this yet since i switched doctors. Tomorrow, I have to get some kind of booster shot. This is going to be an issue already because I expierence anxiety attacks. My last shot a few years ago, i ran around the exam room and hid under the table screaming and crying until people had to hold me down. I want to avoid that situation if possible, but I know it's impossible from screaming and crying and my heart racing and me going all fidgety. Also, I don't think my doctor has any numbing medications to apply so I'm at a loss for solutions! Please help!!!

Answers:
try to tell yourself that freaking out will only make it worse, so just relax and get the shot, don't watch while they do it. And relax the part of your body that it's happening to (ex. leg, put your weight on the other leg and let the one getting the shot hang loose) this will prevent soreness then next day. Just think of if as, shots are not there to hurt use, they're made to prevent and cure sickness. Just relax, you'll be ok. And don't embarrass yourself, that could be worse than freaking out over a shot, good luck
Well, remember that it's only a needle. It'll hurt for a secound. A secound. When you recieve the shot, try picturing being some where else, or think about something else.
