Has anyone had good results with any special diets for there children with behavior problems?

Question:
If so what diet are you using? Any luck with eliminating food dyes? Serious answers please.

Answers:
I just emailed you! Lol! I have a 7 year old with autism who is on a gluten free/casein free diet. He is EXTREMELY hyperactive. Before I put him on the diet (he was almost 3) he would be even MORE hyper after eating foods with milk, and would have these crazy laughing spells. He already bounces off the walls, but it was obviously more so with the milk products, not to mention the stools he would have after eating them. I was changing like 10 pull ups a day. He would not even touch milk after I took him off of the bottle but he was addicted to cheese, and cereals/crackers with wheat in them. AFTER I put him on the diet, within a matter of only a couple of weeks, he just stopped peeing on himself. Period, including at night. So to me I related that directly to the diet. I have wanted to give up on the diet sometimes, but you know, every time I let him have some foods which he normally doesn't have, he acts even more hyper than usual, and if you knew my son you would find that hard to believe! Lol! I have considered Feingold as well as vitamin therapy(B6 and Magnesium), but with my financial situation and stress level, any more changes would just be really hard for me to enforce right now. I also had completely takem him off of sugar for a long time, but I have caved and so he has it every now and then. I can't really tell if it affects his behavior or not. I am still looking for a solution that works, I am just kind of burned out by the trial and error of it all!

Our neighbors have a child who was diagnosed as hyperactive, his pediatrician suggested a diet which completely eliminates all artificial preservatives additives. It has made a tremendous difference in the child, he seems like a totally different (much better behaved and happier) boy.

yes. my son had ADHD and ADD and was even thaught to be hyperactive and later bipolar.when he was put on a natural diet with no preservatives and no red dye, wheat bread and gluten, or candy.he was able to stop the medications. He ate peanutbutter and fresh fruit and it calmed him. coffee was another thing that calmed him down and actually works like ritalin because ritalin is a stimulant. it calms children.
corn causes a lot of children allergies. you can tell if your child has a runny nose a lot or if he salivates a lot. does he get diarrhea or stomache aches often? these are ways to clue that it could be food related.
there are so many kids these days who are all strung up.it is what we are feeding them and there are so many kids being diagnosed as bipolar.it is just not acceptable.it just sells pills and makes the doctors rich but does harm to the children.in years to come they will have liver and kidney problems.many of these drugs affect the liver, thyroid and brain in ways they are still not sure of. I am a nurse, believe me, I know this for sure.
I am not saying some children do not need medication.I am saying a large percent of them do not. some do. pill popping is a last resort, not an answer.
our bodies have a sensetive balance and putting chemicals in it, makes the balance thrown off..it also teaches your children that pills are ok to use to fix things.and in a world of drugs gone wild, I want my kids to feel pills are not ok, unless there is something that can not be corrected naturally, as a last resort.

Greetings. I've had alot of experience with autistic kids, and their parents, and I know of two things one can do.

1) Remove Dairy and Wheat from their Diet. For the specific reasons why you can visit www.dogtorj.net, who has dedicated much of his life to spreading awareness about these issues.

2) Use a mineral supplement called Etherium Gold, and Etherium Black. www.harmonicinnerprizes.com

I've seen people have semi-miraculous effects with both approaches. Good luck, and feel free to email me if you need further information. centrumistoxic@gmail.com

If you have children with behavior problems it's the food that they are eating. It is that lack of discipline in their lives that in return gives them the ability to have self discipline for the rest of their life. My daughter had ADHD and she is now 23 she still have problems with and depression but she is trying very hard to overcome this.

i have been a vegan for the past 3 years. i have not (been supposed to) had behavior problems, all i can say though is that i noticed an increase on my physical strength and stamina, and a change on the way i comprehend reality.

another information i know is that a test took place in a prison.the prisoners became vegans for a few months. they were not aggressive after that.

to my mind, this is the only human diet.i hope i helped. there is plenty of books to get more information. a very good one is "plant roots". thank you for your time.
