Mind racing? What is it and what causes it?

Question:

Answers:
I've grown up with this and I was told that it was due to chemical anxiety.

That may now be an outdated term, but it's what I was told.

If it helps, I'll describe what I feel.

I feel that everything around me suddenly becomes much more intense. If I'm watching television for example, it almost appears as if it's in 3D and I'm there with the people on tv. My dreams become more intense and typically involve very large objects and a feeling of velveted thunder that has sped up. Like a very large person is tapping all of their fingers in rapid succession and I'm standing on the table that is being rapped upon.

Everything around me becomes slower and, as I stated, more intense.

If this is not what you are feeling, then ignore this answer, as what I have may be entirely different than what you are describing.

Hope it helps though.

Love as always,

Sebastian

Anxiety and depression may be a cause for your mind to be racing. Do you have trouble sleeping too ?

personal experience
I've experienced mind racing with depression. I know that it can also be a symptom of bipolar in the manic stage, if accompanied by other symptoms of mania. But for me, I'm not bipolar but I do experience it if I'm stressed or depressed sometimes. I experience it if I have too much caffeine.
