Answers:
Bluntly put, the detox can kill you. You can have a seizure. Please tell your doctor and get into a detox ASAP! The detox can be managed outside a clinic or hospital.but why take the chance?
If you are hurting, please talk to your doctor about being admitted to a detox or finding out if he can slow the withdrawal fron the Xanax.
IF you are hurting badly.you might want to go to the emergency room of a hospital.
What the hell is his rush? Time for a second opinion yes? What do your folks say about the tremendous pain you are in??

My detox was from Resperidol and Zyprexa. Nowhere as severe as your own but I would rather not visit that place again.
So I am going to send you a link to a page where people are detoxing from Xanax and posting about it.I wish you luck but do not try to do this on your own. If you think you are in danger, take those feelings seriously and act on them. Peace.

By the way, ask your doctor about Serax.a benzo used to curb the side effects of the detox from Xanax. Serax is used to help people off Xanax. My detox was nine months and no bloody picnic for I went cold turkey. Absolutely no need for you to go where others already have. Get some help and set the tone for your detox.and do it the right way.safely.

Oh I feel for you girl! My sister takes that stuff and when she lowers it or gets off of it, it just screws with her more!! Try to get off of it period!! Best of luck!!

if u doubt ur doctor, find another one Unfortunately there is no other way to reduce .5 mg. I would however let him now the side effects. Dr's are aware the medication is addicting and he should help you off it.

You need to wean yourself off the xanax. It's not good to be physically dependent on something. The anxious feelings you are having is a physical reaction to the lesser dosage, and it should pass in time.

I know it's going to be rough for awhile. The doctor could probably tell you were close to becoming hooked. Your chest pains are probably panic attacks. But try breaking the .5mg pill in half and take one half in the late morning and then the other half late in the evening. After about a week it will get easier. Good luck!
