Simply put, quit drinking. Quit hanging around folks that drink. Quit going to places where others drink. Your whole lifestyle has to change if you want to stay sober. Hope you maintain your soberity.

Sure. Willpower, willingness, want & need to quit COLD Turkey.
It works if you work it. Try NA. Same program, different fellowship but they deal with alcohol as a drug too. Expect Miracles.
The only way to stay sober is to not drink. They can teach you this in therepy, AA etc. but if is up to you.
yes, go for regular evening walks. talk to u r friends be extrovert.
don't hide , free u r mind.
broden u r way of thinking.
Yes I do. Don't just go to AA - participate in AA. Try to learn what they're trying to teach you. It's an every day process. Befriend the members and welcome newcomers. Pass the message to whoever is there to listen. In order to know the message, you must listen to everything that is said there. It does take a while to catch on. It isn't a program one can visit a couple of times..it's a lifetime program that anyone who is an alcoholic needs to take very seriously. It's a matter of life or death.

Find a sponsor and do what she suggests for you. Make phone calls to other members. Build yourself a group of friends who understand and don't judge.

Be determined and don't let anyone talk you out of attending these meetings.
If you can't quit, then why bother? No to be negative, but obviously, you seem to have a deeper problem within you. You need to see a specialist if you really want to quit.
Move to a town in the United State that doesn't sell alchole they really do exist. Talk to a real estate or travel agent. If you don't want to go to that extreme get support from freinds and family and a therapist specialising in addictions.
you have to truely want to quit, no one can decide that for you, it would take alot of will power and hopefully you have alot of supportive family members who will be there for you.I would also join some kind of group again and prayers do help. I wish you the best. Good luck!
Having been almost 12 months sober now, I have to say that you have to either just give it up, or as happened in my case, eventually hit your "Bottom".
That's when you decide whether drinking to excess is really worth the social, legal and health related problems that go with it.
I'm not a preacher , but I am another once suffering alcoholic who takes sobriety one day at a time. I know that AA definitely works if you find the right group and are open minded enough to listen, learn and accept the moral support that they provide.
Well I got sober 3 years ago. first thing you have to do is quit feeling sorry for yourself, second you have to keep yourself away from situations where you will be tempted to drink. you have to stay away from your friends who drink, you may loose friends, but your true friends want you sober. Third you have to forgive yourself for the stupid things you done while you were drunk. that is how i got sober.
Have a sponsor you can call who will help you through the tough times and get into addictions counseling to work through your underlying personal issues that lead you to drink.
Earl's got it! There's only one thing I would like to add. pray for a miracle. It might just take one, if you don't get on the ball.
First you have to want to quite & remember the world is not going to quite drinking because you are allergic to alcohol.

Don't quite trying, the fact that you have sought help is a great start. Don't get discourage take it a day at a time. Get through one day then the next and eventually you will be doing it without thinking about it. But don't try it alone, continue to seek professional help and support groups.

Best of luck to you at least your making an attempt.
