My friend is very depressed and talking about suicide and.........?

Question:
I only talk to him online. I don't have any other way to get in touch with him and I worry about him all the time. Sometimes he's in such a good mood, but lately he has been totally depressed and it's like he's a different person. I love this man very, very much and I keep waiting for him to come on line so that I know he's ok, and when he doesn't answer me for days I can't stop worrying. I have told him that i will always be there for him and I keep trying to help him with his problems. Don't know what else to do, he doesn't live near me and I'm at a loss.

Answers:
Well if you havn't tired to talk to him about what's been happening thenyou sould. A thing that ca lead to suicide is mostly depression or stress. You need to talk to him as much as possible even if he doesn't answers his mail. Just keep writting him and trying to relax him as much as possible. He sould notice tha thier is somebody who cares and want to be with him more. That will make him want to stay a bite longer and if that doesn't help than you better charris all the time you've spent with him writting to each other. If you ask how would I know, well I was the same way too.

where does he live? i u know where he lives u can go over there and talk 2 him take him 2 see a doctor try 2 make him not feel depressed
Call around where he lives to see if there are services that can help him cope with what hes going through other than that your doing allot by being there for him.
Send him some e-cards, jokes, something to make him feel better.

If u know his phone number maybe you should call him.

Good luck and i hope your friend will get better, honestly.
Encourage him to go see a doctor and find emergency numbers such as a suicide hotline and give those to him.
Have you tried calling the hotline forsuicide? He needs to talk
to a professional counselor. Have you ever asked him why he
was deppressed, and why he wanted to kill himself. This is the when you need to start praying that some how and some way that the Lord reaches iut to him. The Lord loves him, and that he has and plan for his life. Have you asked him where he lives? Does he live by himslef? What is his name. You have to get to the root of the depression. What is causing him to be so depressed. He can not kill himself.
I've worked on a suidice hotline and am certified to work on any American hotline. Sometimes talking about suicide is really just reaching out, telling people that you are very depressed and feel hopeless. Other times, it is much more dangerous. He seriously needs to seek professional help. If you are talking to him and he says that he is about to kill himslef, and has the weapon around him...get him to call the suicide hotline right away...they will talk to him, and if he is really about to take his life, they will page the on-call doctor (if it's after hours) the doctor will listen and try to sort things out. If that doesnt work they will patch the line over to the police...they will listen and may go to his home to make sure he is safe. They all should be very nice and caring...Bottom line, this is something that he needs help for immediatly and he is hurting you by making you worry so much...tell him that it is worth living because you are a very good friend to him. Get him to talk about the good things in his life. Hope that helps.....He does want your help if he talks to you about it...
Em G had a very good answer. Depression really is a illness that needs to be treated. Treatment will help. I wish you and your friend luck and strength to get through this.
tell him to go see a doc. and tell him to call 1-800 suicide.
