anxiety issues.............only serious answers please?
Question:
i suffer from anxiety really badly, and the thoughts that go through my head are the usual ones associated with it, fears of dying and being poisoned and stuff, and i have a really bad fear of catching leptospirosis (human rat poisoning), and my anxiety symptoms seem to mimic leptospirosis, but the difference is, i don't die, my first question is...
how can i stop the anxiety
and my second question is.....
how long does leptospirosis usually take to kill a human.
i would like to hear from sufferers of anxiety attacks and panic attacks if possible, mainly because only they will understand what i'm going through

I think a lot of these people on this question dont suffer from anxiety becaiuse a lot of them want to tell you that meds are the answer. this is NOT the answer. Anxiety is a mental problem and is sometimes a diet problem. most of the time its mental. would you take medication to get rid of a memory??? how stupid does that sound??
what you need is CBT cognative behavior therepy. this is when you induce the panic and you ride it out without trying to do anything. you will notice that the attacks get shorter when you do this. another good method is to distrxct your mind. pick up a hobby or just start keeping a personal journal. this can be very thereputic and it helps to distract ytour mind from obsessive thoughts that trigger anxiety. try it out. the next time you have anxiety start typing something it can be anything. you will be surprised that once your start concentrating on the words that you are writing the anxiety will start to melt away. another thing you can do is when you have a panic attack (if you do have these because there is a difference) drink some sugar water. if this helps it is your blood that is the culprit. low blood sugar. changing your siet will do wonders anyway. see a doctor about this. if you smoke quit. if you drink.....keep it to 2-3 drinks a day. Alcohol is sugar based and too much sugar will increase anxiety.
work on your breathing. breath through your stomach not your ribs. pause between each breath on the inhale and exhale. this very important. take a deep breath and start counting on the exhale as fast but as clearly as you can. see how high you can get. if you are below 120 you need to work on your beathing. most are not aware that improper breathing is one of the main culprits of anxiety.
I hope this helps. i have suffered with anxiety for years but one of the bets advice i can give you is this.....worry is the cause of anxiety and it is what makes everything snowball. let go of your fear and anxiety will follow.
