You are not so out of control that you realize that you need help.
I would suggest that you try counseling first to deal with the past anger. You are carrying out anger which you should have let go of a long time ago, so you have to figure out why you cannot let that anger go. Then you need to know how to deal with your anger - esp. when that anger is justified - as you said - people walked all over you and mistreated you. I expect that you are dealing with low self esteem and you need to address that - why else would people walk all over you and mistreat you unless you allowed them to in the first place. You thought that by showing anger all the time would keep people from mistreating you and walking all over you - but it seems like a poor defense mechanism to me. A negative one, too. You need to find positive ways - first - about yourself, then ways to deal with people who mistreat you and walk all over you - btw - are those sort of people really worth dealing with in the first place?

Oh, my. You sound like, me, ouch. I actually heard my oldest daughter and a friend I have known from 1970(this was last year) say, "She never gets over it-she just says she does." Speaking of my resentments, that is. I just imagine using my weapon of choice (iron skillet), but I don't want to go to prison. So I try to convey my mode of thinking, and bit-by-bit, I become number. Umm, useful advice---try to get away from the abusive idiots. Also, get a nice friend to give massages and help you relax. The masseuse wouldn't do it to suit you and you'd get angry-Well, you are a control-freak now, as well. No help, self-control is it.
Your last statement says it all.it will ruin your life. my guess is as you aged and your body changed, you can have a problem with the way you handle things. It is widely accepted that our diet can have an affect on our emotions. It took a long time for whatever you eat to alter your emotions--it will take some time to get back on track. Do you eat a lot of white flour, sugar, and soda? Does the food have a lot of MSG in it? Guaranteed it's a diet related problem. You need to be honest and answer with a straight forward desire to change your eating habits. Some people have a real problem and a doctor just gives them a prescription. That just masks the issue. You need to eat better and I'll guarantee you'll feel better in a month tops.It is all up to you to make your life better. Smile and good luck

The first step, which you have done, is realize you have a problem. Now, you need to get the steps to control the problem.
You need to take deep breaths. Blow OUT first, do not suck in. This sucks all the anger back into you and makes it worse. (I know, sounds crazy, but try it both ways and see what happens!) Next, you need to count from 10 to 1, down, until you get enough control to speak. If this doesn't work, you need to move your Numbers higher. The biggest thing is DO NOT SPEAK until you have control. If you have control of your tongue, everything else will follow.
