Don't worry about being behind your friends. Not everyone has rich parents who can put their kids through college. The fact that you have to earn what you get in life is more commendable and much more worthwhile. A lot of people who go to college (especially spoiled brats who got a free ride) don't amount to anything anyways. You work and go to school, so future employers will acknowledge that. Just be confident about yourself and don't worry about other people. You are better than that. =-)
You can be super smart but it's in your best interest to not be condescending that kind of turns people off of wanting to be friends. And it is possible that your boss will be older than you - but so what if he / she ist. Life is a journey of learning and everyone can learn something from everyone else. You aren't behind in life really. There are people who don't go to college until they are 40 or older. Everyone goes at their own pace. Take someone you are interested in out for coffee or have a study date to meet people. The more you try to hurry through things - the further behind you fall. So I'd say slow down and enjoy what you have right now - at this minute.
