My question is for BIPOLARS?

Question:
If you're experiencing more depression than mania, can you tell me the anti-depressants that worked for you to get over your depression but also didn't cause you any mania pls?
P.S.I do not want to combine it with lithium or any other anti-manic things...So the anti-depressant should really prevent depression but shouldn't put me to mania.

Answers:
Geeze the last gal is on alot of anti psychotics! Are u sure your bi polar??
I take lamictal for bi and wellbutrin for depression. Seroquel as needed for yukky anxiety filled days.
Good luck!

Other Answers:
ask a doctor first....you dont want to combine things that shouldnt be combine or take meds that aren't right for you or needed.
YO Right here I am Bipolar, I take lithium but I need something to balance me out "depression"
and its called Seroquel. But that's just what works for me, So If I was you go talk to your doctor cause that's the only person you should listen to.
they have me on Effexor right now. I like it. but everyone is different. and of course...I have quite a cocktail going with other meds... so I am not sure if it causes mania.... specially since i take a lot of serequel during the day.
sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
see i take topomax, lamictal, serequel, effexor, abilify and trazedone. whew.
I'm wondering if it would be wise to take advice from someone with the illness I DO' NT MEAN TO OFFEND ANYONE AND I APOLOGIZE IF I DO but my husband has Bi Polar disorder with intermittent explosive mood swings and we know that if one is not closely monitored by family and friends, and doctor or in therapy ,and taking prescribed meds. Those who have the illness are sometimes in a confused state of mind ,unable to judge rationally.
